A beautiful summer’s day provided the perfect backdrop to Rearcross National School’s Green Flag celebrations recently. After years of hard and devoted work, our third flag now flies proudly over the school’s grounds serving as a reminder to us all of what can be achieved if the right commitment and determination is in place.
Buíochas ó chroí to Ms. Carey and the Green-Schools committee for all their hard work over the last two years.

Today all the pupils from Rearcross National School took part in a science display in the school and presented their work to other classes. Pupils investigated, experimented, estimated, measured, analysed and evaluated across a wide variety of activates ranging from static electricity to sorting materials! A special word of thanks to Ms. Daly for organised this project.

We’ve been busy in the garden planting carrots, potatoes and parsley. We planted turnip and lettuce seeds in pots for planting out later.

Yesterday our entire school visited Cabragh Wetlands. This ‘Day of Action’ proved an excellent opportunity for students and staff to get together to work towards achieving some of the targets set out in our action plan. Pupils spent the day exploring this unique 200 acre ecosystem which contains varied habitats, birds, flowers, insects and mammals.
