The Board of Management’s annual review of the Child Protection Policy was completed on 11/10/16. The review was conducted in accordance with the checklist set out in Appendix 2 of the Department’s Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools. A review of the school’s Anti-Bullying Policy and its implementation was also completed. The review was conducted in accordance with the checklist set out in Appendix 4 of the Department’s Anti-Bullying Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools. Colm O’ Toole, Principal. Last week Rearcross National School joined a growing group of primary schools nationwide when it received the prestigious ‘Digital Schools of Distinction’ award. Digital Schools of Distinction is a flagship programme which aims to promote, recognise and encourage excellence in the use of technology in schools. This is a nationally recognised award and is accredited by the Department of Education and Skills.

Speaking at the event, Gerard McHugh,Chair of the Digital Schools of Distinction Committee and Director of Dublin West Education Centre, praised the teachers of the school for their role in integrating technology and digital media into the teaching and learning environment. Eight new junior infant boys and girls started primary school at Rearcross National School on Wednesday 31st August 2016. They have all settled in wonderfully and their teacher Ms. Carey is looking forward to a very exciting and busy year!
